Blog Project
For this project I chose to evaluate three different types of TMR mixers that are used by dairy farmers to make complete rations for their cows. The three mixers I chose where NDE, Jaylor, and Patz portable mixers. I compared these mixers first by capacity, height, weight empty, and the number on knives. A TMR mixers is a mixer that creates a total mixed ration for dairy farmers to feed their cows. This type of feeding is so that when a cow eats she gets corn silage, hay, grains, and concentrates all at once. This is beneficial because this gives a cow all the nutrients she needs in the least amount of time and can get the cow to producing more milk faster.
